What I really think of her and her legacy…

*Trigger Warning* Death, imperialism, rape culture, colonial trauma, war, genocide, houselessness

A picture of Queen Elizabeth during the day time looking outwards. Queen Elizabeth is in a suit coat with a pastel flower print top underneath. She’s wearing a pearl necklace and a giant broach on her left shoulder, and a matching hat with pastel flowers on it. She is not smiling. There is a grey background behind her.

I’ll probably write an article about Elizabeth II in the coming months to go through all the many nuances of this topic but for now, look at the articles I’ve already written where I mentioned her and/or her family and British imperialism. You’ll get a sense from these articles of what I might be thinking about all the media blitz right now about Elizabeth II’s passing.

Below I’ve included the article links and a brief excerpt from each one…

“The Kohinoor diamond in the Queen of England’s crown that is housed in the Tower of London — stolen from a deity of Hindu Goddess Bhadra Kali.”

The Continued Desecration of Hindu Temples

“It turns out, Harry, that a lot of immigrant children never get meet their elders back home in their native countries because they can never go back to war zones, disaster zones, zones of communal conflict. You know who made it impossible for them to meet their elders? The western empire of which the backbone is the British Empire. That’s you, Harry. Your dad. Your grandmother. Your great-grandfather. Your great-great-grandfather. Your entire racist family
